N2 - In this paper, we discuss how to discriminate the queue type in the network for end-to-end congestion control. FAST TCP is one of end-to-end congestion avoidance techniques and designed to accept FIFO and drop tail queue. However, existing AQM routers in the recent Internet may interrupt that such end-to-end congestion avoidance protocols perform well. At first, we examine the behavior of FAST TCP over RED router by simulation and show ploblems. Then, we discuss how to discriminate the queue type in FAST TCP communications.
