Abstract

In remote surgery, delay on video is very serious problem. Transmission delay typically occurs when the picture is compressed to reduce data size. We investigated the relation between delay of video and surgical efficiency using a simplified model. The results showed that there are significant differences in work time on each delay range about more than 400msec.
