N2 - We report here a young case of BCC on the parietal region after comprehensive anti-tumor treatment. In 1996, the patient had received total body irradiation, combination chemotherapy including oral cyclophosphamide, and allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) for curative treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, followed by continuous use of low dose oral glucocorticoid for 12 years. Clinically, the tumor was 8×5×4 mm in size, and showed a slightly reddish surface with pigment spots, looked soft, and was characteristically pedunculated. Although we histopathologically considered a differential diagnosis of trichoblastoma due to a number of basaloid cells with an antler-like pattern in the tumor nests, we diagnosed the patient with BCC because cleft architecture between the tumor tissue and the stroma and cell migration were observed, in addition to an asymmetrical nest. We suspect that the immunosuppressive status after comprehensive treatments for non-Hodgkin lymphoma may affect BCC occurrence in patients of relatively young age.
