    Abstract

The accuracy of pulse shaping in both amplitude and phase for amplified femtosecond pulses was significantly improved by feedback control using frequency resolved optical gating or spectral interferometry. This shaping technique is applicable for generating arbitrary pulse shapes predicted by optimum control theory in photochemistry.
