BCS-BEC crossover in a gas of fermi atoms with a P-wave feshbach resonance

Abstract

We present a theoretical study of the possibility of p-wave superfluidity in a gas of Fermi atoms with a p-wave Feshbach resonance. This anisotropic Feshbach resonance leads to a tunable pairing interaction in the p-wave Cooper channel. The character of superfluidity is shown to continuously change from the p-wave BCS type to the Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of tightly-bound molecules with finite orbital angular momenta, Lz=±1 and 0, as the threshold energy 2ν of the Feshbach resonance is lowered.
