Abstract

We have proposed two methods to obtain transparent copolymers as a result of comprehensive study on the light scattering properties of binary amorphous copolymers, which are to use a pair of monomers with comparable refractive indices, or a pair which forms narrow composition distributions. We investigated the properties of 1-adamantyl methacrylate -co-styrene, and showed the possibility for it to be a novel GI POF material with high transparency and high thermal stability.
