Abstract
Feeding studies of six 13C-labeled sterols, including clerosterol, to hairy roots of Ajuga reptans var. atropurpurea have established that clerosterol is a precursor of three phytoecdysteroids, cyasterone, isocyasterone and 29-norcyasterone.
