Abstract

Using 4 epithelial- and 3 non-epithelial malignant tumor cell lines established in our laboratory and a newly devised grading recorder, we monitored the cell volume and the daily changes in the constituent cell populations. We found that epithelial tumor cells tended to become remarkably smaller and uniform in culture. Non-epithelial tumor cells had a larger mean cell volume than epithelial tumor cells.
