Abstract
The effect of injecting sinusoidally frequency-shifted light into microchip solid-state laser was investigated. Periodic and chaotic burst corresponding to the period of the piezoelectric transducer (PZT) vibration at 1 kHz was observed. The chaotic burst was consisted of chaotic sharp pulses at a repetition frequency near the relaxation oscillation frequency of 375 kHz. A time interval between the bunches of chaotic pulses was observed which corresponds to the instantaneous Doppler-shift frequency of the feedback light. The abrupt change in the phase of the laser field induced by the frequency-modulated feedback light caused relaxation oscillation with chaotic amplitude change.
