Abstract

CeO2 nanocubes, truncated nanocubes, and truncated octahedra were synthesized for the preparation of long-range ordered self-assembly multilayered nanostructure. The multilayer of CeO2 nanocrystals was prepared on a rapid enlarged liquid-gas interface with a high concentration of surfactant in the dispersion. The structure of multilayers was decided by the crystal face of CeO2 nanocrystals and the exposed crystal face of the multilayer, via which the orientation of nanocrystals in the self-assembly structure could be controlled. A novel formation mechanism for the self-assembly structure was demonstrated.
