Abstract
In this study, we investigated receptor-mediated transfection of the ternary nanoparticles in which a pDNA/chitosan particles is coated with hyaluronic acid (HA), that is known to specifically bind CD44. It was found that the coating of the pDNA/chiorsan complexes with HA depressed self-aggregation in BSA solution, and its cytotoxicity was very low. Although the ternary nanoparticles was negative charge, the gene expression of luciferase gene on CHO cells which express CD44 were improved, which is well agreed with the cell uptake efficiency.
