Abstract
The advent of packet-switched networks led to increased use of computers for sending messages between people. However, attachment to such networks is expensive and often restricted by organizational policies. In addition, availability of several networks creates the need for forwarding memos between them. The work described is designed to free users from dependence upon any particular communication environment and provide a memo distribution facility which can employ whatever channels are available. This will support variable-network structures, simulation of network attachment, and inter-network mail forwarding.
