Abstract

The growing discrepancy between leadership and economic power is undermining the established international order, as the gravity of economic power shifts from the West to Asia. This chapter concludes the edited volume by summarising the prospects for China-Japan cooperation in the areas of first, leadership; second, free trade; third, international rules; fourth, development finance; fifth, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN); sixth, currency cooperation; seventh, currency internationalisation; and eighth, monetary integration.
