Abstract

The usage environments of POFs have been limited to indoor, because of the low glass transition temperature of conventional acrylic materials. In this research, novel materials were studied for the improvement of the transparency and thermal stability of GI-POF, which can endure cruel environment such as the in-vehicle network. Approach on transparency improvement was focused in this talk. As the result, it was clarified that P3FMA based GI-POF have low-loss characteristic comparable to PMMA-d8 based GI-POF. Therefore, the superiority of partially fluorinated acrylic resins was suggested, and F5PMA, which is high thermal stability partially fluorinated acrylic resin was proposed as a novel material of GI-POF.
