Abstract

A novel microwave antenna device made of a dielectric grating is proposed to enlarge the communication area of the Two-Dimensional Communication by converting two-dimensionally guided waves into three-dimensionally radiated beams, and enabling directional wireless communication or 2D waveguides interconnection. In this paper, we review the experimental results for one-dimensional grating to show the validity of the proposed method, and then show simulation results for two-dimensional grating to verify the feasibility of the three-dimensional directivity control.
