Abstract

We have investigated the behavior of dissociative ionization of ethanol molecules under irradiation of 400- and 800-nm femtosecond laser pulses. When 800-nm pulses were irradiated, parent ions and fragment ions generated at C-C bond breaking were dominant. On the other hand, when 400-nm pulses were irradiated, fragment ions generated at C-0 bond breaking showed significant increase. When irradiating both 400- and 800-nm pulses and changing the time delay between these pulses, different photofragmentation occurs depending on which pulse is irradiated first.
