Abstract

A method for style design support, which strives to extend design candidates by combining computer images of the designer/s ideas with engineering techniques, is used to generate diverse design candidates. This paper considers the problems, "What are diverse design candidates?" and "Which design candidates reflect a designer's image?" Moreover, this paper introduces a diverse curved profiles generation method to manipulate designer's image and its application in vehicle design as an example of style design support by diverse shape generation.
