Abstract

A method for style design support, which strives to extend design candidates by combining computer images of the designer's ideas with engineering techniques, is used to generate diverse design candidates. This paper considers the problems, "What are diverse design candidates?" and "Which design candidates reflect a designer's image?" Moreover, this paper introduces a diverse curved profiles generation method to manipulate designer's image and its application in vehicle design as an example of style design support by diverse shape generation.
