Abstract

This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of eco-renovation and environmental education in improving the thermal environment in a school and reducing the environmental load produced by a school. We conducted thermal comfort and energy analysis in an elementary school in Iyo city, Ehime prefecture. In this analysis, we considered the thermal and ventilation network in the school and correlated them with the meteorological data of the region. The analytical accuracy and the effect of the abovementioned measures were determined. We observed that adequate eco-renovation and environmental education can improve the thermal environment by 19% and reduce the environmental load by 71%.
