Abstract

We present experimental measurements and theoretical analysis of Rabi oscillations of the exciton polarization in a strain-compensated InAs quantum dot ensemble. We observed the non-harmonic oscillations of the ensemble averaged four-wave mixing signal intensities measured as a function of the averaged pulse area of an excitation pulse. The experimental results can be well reproduced by calculations considering the effect of the inhomogeneities of the detuning, the transition dipole moment, and the electric field amplitude without any fitting parameters.
