Abstract

In this paper, we describe a 3D virtual space system named "Friend Park" that gives users a more definite sense of reality. With this system, users are able to get reality by gaining the information of the smell in the virtual space. Also, the new input method that this system support makes the users sense the reality better. First, we propose the general idea of "Aroma", the area of "Aroma Aura", and the method of transmitting the actual smell from a virtual space to real world. Second, to perform a natural way of input in virtual space, we focused on the action of "blowing". We propose the technique of operating the virtual object by blowing onto the screen and measuring a force of the wind with new device. The system evaluation, which measures whether users can get reality by them, demonstrated that we have gained a better result by supporting olfactory information transmission browning behavior.
