Abstract

The effect of intense terahertz (THz) pulses on single-walled carbon nanotubes is investigated by THz -pump and optical-probe experiments. Ultrafast electroabsorption signals possessing a THz bandwidth are observed at exciton resonances in the optical communication wavelength and at room temperature.
