Abstract

We propose a large scalable knockout dilated banyan multicast ATM switch which is connected by small modulated knockout concentrators with multistage in dilated banyan networks in order to reduce the increment of the components as switch size grows and accomplish a scalable switch. Since the proposed model is connected by small modulated knockout concentrators with multistage in dilated banyan networks, the proposed model can reduce greatly the total number of the components. We show the total number of knockout concentrators, cell filters and binary trees. We also consider the cell loss probability and the delay performance of the proposed model by means of computer simulations.
