Abstract
As many people use digital maps in the ubiquitous network, facilitating fair use has become a great issue for vector map content. Watermarks are a promising way to trace content and report contact information to end users. We clarify the technical requirement for a small-size map including several hundred vectors. A line-division-based digital watermarking system based on inserting new points that divide a line segment, where the internal division ratio indicates the embedding information, is proposed. The ability of the method to survive daily user operations and trace content is evaluated.
