Abstract
A new flow calorimeter for the measurement of the isobaric specific heat capacity, Cp, of liquids has been designed and constructed. The heat loss from sample liquid is so small as it can be regarded as being negligible. The Cp of the liquid R 114 is measured at temperatures 275 K to 323 K along the 0. 5 MPa isobar with the estimated uncertainty of plus or minus 1 %. The isomeric composition of the sample R 114 is 95% of 1,2-dichloro-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane(CC1F//2CC1F//2) and 5% of 1,1-dichloro-1,2,2,2-tetrafluoroethane(CCl//2FCF//3) by infrared techniques. The purity of R 114 is 99. 94 wt%. The experimental results are compared with existing experimental and tabulated values.
