Abstract

An interfacial-gel copolymerization technique for steric GRIN (raded-index) optical-circuit elements and lens arrays using polymer material is proposed. The fabrication method is described. Some applications of polymer radial GRIN waveguides made by this technique are shown. The distribution of the refractive index inside the waveguides was almost quadratic against the distance from the center axis.
