Abstract

To decrease the bandwidth of liquid crystal Fabry-Perot interferometer, a new structure of one is devised to have a double-layer cavity where the intracavity consists of the LC layer and the glass layer. This filter has a very narrow bandwidth (FWHM < 10 GHz), low loss (4 dB) and a large tunability (9 nm) and has the potential to select over 50 channels for FDM systems.
