Non-equilibrium current fluctuation in one-dimensional array of quantum dots

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Non-equilibrium current and its fluctuation are calculated in one-dimensional array of quantum dots connected in series, taking account of the long-range charging effect. In arrays which are smaller than the interaction range, charges are transported one by one. We suggest two types of traalsport, regular and irregular motion of a charge, which correspond to the minima and local maxima of the current fluctuation, respectively. Their interplay makes rich structures of the Coulomb blockade oscillation. In arrays which are larger than the interaction range, nmre than one charges are transported collectively, which makes a broad peak in the spectrum of the current fluctuation.
