Abstract

A system for cancelling an abnormal signal in an input signal by using adaptive digital filters (ADFs) is proposed. The system has the following features: (1) two ADFs are connected in series to cancel an abnormal signal more accurately; (2) a variable threshold is used to detect an abnormal signal with stability; (3) an affine projection algorithm (APA) is adopted instead of an LMS algorithm to shorten the convergence time. The system can be applied to various kinds of signals, whereas the input in the conventional system was restricted to simple sinusoidal signals.
