Abstract

We propose the multicarrier trellis coded slow-FH/16QAM with an interference immunity decoding method to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance in digital land mobile communications. In our proposed scheme, we estimate the power of co-channel interference (CCI) using space symbols inserted in the several slots to get the weight value per carrier. We carry out the immunity decoding method considering the amplitude of interference symbols to calculate the branch metric. BER performance of the proposed system is investigated by computer simulation. It is shown that the performance of the proposed system is affected by CCI per carrier. And our scheme is more effective to restrain the affection of CCI especially for uplink of cellular systems and in the case that the processing delay time is restricted, such as mobile speech communications compared with traditionally decoding.
