Abstract

We examined photoconductive, electro-optic and photorefractive properties of three kinds of photorefractive polymers: a carbazole main-chain polymer, and main- and side-chain polymers in which additional functional group was introduced. We observed enhanced photorefractive properties in the main- and side-chain polymers. A large net gain of over 100 cm-1 was obtained after poling at an elevated temperature.
