Quantum Connections

Abstract

Real-world operation of quantum repeater networks will require a protocol for establishing connections between two nodes. Such connections require choosing a path, deciding how many rounds of purification are necessary, and more. Such decisions also depend on the planned use of the generated entanglement. All of this must be done while minimizing the knowledge of the network required at each node, both the end points and those in the middle of the path.
