Abstract

In this paper, we investigated regional cerebral blood flow changes in the neuropsychiatric patients mimicking Alzheimer's disease including Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), Semantic Dementia (SD), and Senile Major Depression presenting pseudodemntia, by a statistical parametric mapping analysis of 99mECD-SPECT images. The SPM analysis of SPECT images was useful to discriminate these diseases. Focal hypoperfusion on SPECT images was well correspondent to the neuropsychological findings in Alzheimer's disease, FTD and SD.
