Abstract

A new preparation of β-hydroxyazo compounds and regioselectivities on their oxidation to β-hydroxyazoxy compounds have been described. A new synthesis of antifungal antibiotic maniwamycin A and the first synthesis of maniwamycin B by using this methodology have been also described.
