Removal of irrelevant isotope ions in the presence of laser cooling in a rf trap

Abstract

An additionally applied rf perturbation excites the secular motion of isotope ions selectively in a rf trap. Simultaneous application of laser cooling has achieved complete removal of irrelevant isotope ions and kept a large number of relevant ones.
