Abstract

To identify peptides with affinity selective for stereoregular isotactic poly(methyl methacrylate) (it-PMMA), phage library displaying a heptamer random peptide was used. After five rounds of biopanning, several phage clones with high specific affinity to it-PMMA were selected. As a result of DNA sequencing, nine kinds of it-PMMA binding phage clones were isolated. Binding affinity and specificity of these phage clones were quantitatively investigated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. These clones not only bound to it-PMMA greater than phage library, but showed the specific binding to it-PMMA rather than syndiotactic and atactic PMMAs.
