Small-sized mach-zehnder interferometer optical switch using thin film Ge<inf>2</inf>Sb<inf>2</inf>Te<inf>5</inf> phase-change material

Abstract

Small-sized Mach-Zehnder Interferometer optical switch using Ge2Sb2Te5 thin films was fabricated. Two thin films of 1-μm-square were sufficient for switching. The switching operation was successfully demonstrated by pulsed laser irradiation.
