Abstract

(4aR,10aS)-(—)-8-Methoxy-l, l,4a-trimethyl-2-oxo-l,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a- octahydrophenanthrene, a useful intermediate for the synthesis of optically active diterpenes, was synthesized from (S)-3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethylcyclohexanone.
