Abstract

Stereocontrolled construction of the fully functionalized heterocyclic aminal core (CDEFG ring) of the zoanthamine and norzoanthamine family was successfully accomplished from the monacyclic ketoacid which was prepared from (+)-Wieland-Miescher ketone and D-glutamic acid.
