Abstract

The value of using epinephrine as a pharmacologic aid in the diagnosis of 3 cases of small renal cell carcinomas under 3 cm in diameter is discussed. Although they are undetectable by conventional selective renal arteriography, tumor vasculatures are clearly revealed by epinephrine-enhanced renal arteriography associated with 6 μg epinephrine. This method may be helpful in establishing the diagnosis of malignancies if the dose of epinephrine is appropriate.
