Abstract

The mixtures of HFC-32 (difluoromethane, CH2F2) and HFC-125 (pentafluoroethane, CHF2-CF3) are supposed to be the most promising alternatives to the refrigerant HCFC-22 in refrigeration, heat pump, and air-conditioning systems. Transport properties of the refrigerant are indispensable in the optimisation of the heat transfer coefficient when designing evaporators and condensers. The thermal conductivity of the mixtures of HFC-32 and HFC-125 in the liquid phase in the temperature range 213-293 K and in the pressure range 2-30 MPa with HFC-32 mass fractions of 0.249, 0.500, and 0.750, respectively, have been measured.
