Abstract

The authors analyze a flow past an elliptic cylinder which moves uniformly accelerated and reveal the transient lift, drag and moment which act on the elliptic cylinder. And as for the separation time, which is especially important for the characteristics of heat conduction, the authors examine precisely a change in the distribution of vorticities on the surface of the elliptic cylinder. For the analysis, the authors use the methods of complex Fourier series expansion and boundary variable expansion, and show the algorithm for the calculation.
