    Abstract

In this paper, a DF relay scheme using different frequency band is proposed. The communication between the Relay Station (RS) and the Base Station (BS) uses lower frequency band than that between the Mobile Station and the Base Station. By communicating in the lower frequency band, high-order modulation should be employed in order to maintain the throughput. Numerical results through computer simulation show that by combining two unequally modulated signals, the BER performance improves more effectively.
