N2 - A study was conducted to demonstrate that 2-Isopropyl-4-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-1-Thione was the photoproduct obtained from N-isopropyl-N-[(E)-2-phenylpropenyl]thiobenzamide. Recrystallization of this compound showed a spontaneous resolution. The compound was prepared under investigations on photocyclization of enamides and thioamides in the solid state.
