Tapeworm infection is spreading worldwide. In Japan, main pathogenic tapeworm is fish tapeworm, Diphyllobothrium nihonkaiense, which is considered as a separate species from Diphyllobothrium latum. Diphyllobothrium latum is common in European countries, and is caused by eating raw fish. Here, a case of diphyllobothriasis is reported, detected by video capsule endoscopy. This article is part of an expert video encyclopedia.
