Direct Yaw Moment Control (DYC) has been demonstrated effective and practical to enhance the two-dimensional stabilization of electric vehicles. However, most of the research did not provide a complete approach to calculate the input variables, that is, the effective driving torques, the vehicle velocity, and the road-tire fiction coefficient. On the other hand, our previous research shows that the traction control based on Maximum Transmission Torque Estimation (MTTE) can not only constrain the slip to improve the longitudinal friction force and lateral friction force, but also provide some information on tire-road conditions, which can ensure the performance and the effectiveness of two-dimensional motion control. Therefore, this paper proposed a new DYC enhanced by MTTE for electric vehicles. The preceded experiments on traction control, the numerical simulation of the whole control system, and the theoretical analysis demonstrated its effectiveness.
