A tuned fluid damper (TLD) is a dynamic absorber which uses hydrodynamic force of sloshing in a container to dampen oscillations of structures. The TLD using a magnetic fluid as working fluid is called a tuned magnetic fluid damper (TMFD). Sloshing of the magnetic fluid is controlled by the magnetic field on the TMFD. It is important to get the state of the sloshing, thus the change of the fluid level and the fluid pressure of the magnetic fluid is studied in several magnetic fields. The change of them is affected by the resonant sloshing of vertical component and not by the resonance of the main (horizontal) sloshing.
