抄録

The Microkernel Next Generation Project (MKng) was started in 1996 at Keio University SFC Laboratory, in collaboration with ten companies and three universities. Based on distributed real-time microkernel technology and multimedia extension functions mainly developed in our previous research project, we created next-generation microkernel technology, which can be applied to real-time, parallel and distributed, multi-computer, embedded, high-speed network, and mobile systems. We are also planning to distribute our results to the world-wide research community. This paper gives an overview of the MKng project and the technologies which were developed.
