N2 - Distance education using the high-resolution video image has become popular according to the expansion of broadband networks. However, conventional distance learning systems lack the feeling of presence and have difficulty to utilize the three-dimensional information. This paper proposes the tele-immersive distance learning system that uses the video avatar, database interface and several interaction techniques in the shared virtual environment.
