Femtosecond Fourier transform spectral interferometry was used to measure the dynamic changes in spatially localized optical absorption and refractive index of Vanadyl phthalocyanine (VOP) thin films. The spatial resolution was improved down to 840 nm using a solid immersion lens. The results of amplitude and phase changes over the 1-D spatial position on the VOP film were presented as a function of wavelength within the probe pulse with and without the solid immersion lens (SIL).
